Vicens House

The Vicens House was the first extremely important project initiated by Antoni Gaudí. Many believe that the Casa Vicens was the first great work of Catalan modernism.

It took many decades for the property to be recognized for its great architectural value. Casa Vicens finally opened to the public as a house museum in 2014.

Park Güell

The Park Güell is known for its design inspired by the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel. It was designed by Antoni Gaudí at the beginning of the 20th century, inspired by nature.

Gaudí contributed enormously to bringing modernism to life in Barcelona and his residence in the Park Güell has become a museum with great information about his life and various works.

Santa Creu i Sant Pau Hospital

The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is the oldest in Spain. It was founded in 1401, after famine and plague caused the merger of 6 medieval hospitals in the city.

This hospital operated until the early 1900s, when it closed its doors. Later, the Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner redesigned the hospital, standing out for having its own nursing school.

The new design of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau gave life to the city's cultural movement and became an extremely important modernist landmark in Barcelona.

La Pedrera or Casa Milà

The Pedrera o Casa Milà was the last private residence designed by Antoni Gaudí before dedicating himself to the famous Sagrada Família project.

In its beginnings, the building had a very striking stone façade, which caused many people to nickname it La Pedrera or the quarry stone.

In 1984, Casa Milà was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is currently one of the most visited tourist sites in Barcelona.

Batlló House

The Batlló House is another of Antoni Gaudí's very famous architectural creations. It was built in 1877 and then redesigned in 1904, because its owner, Josep Batlló, wanted a unique house that no other member of the family would imitate.

Casa Batlló is known as Casa dels Ossos (House of the Bones), due to its somewhat skeletal qualities.

On special days in Catalonia (such as the Sant Jordi in April), the Casa Batlló is usually beautifully decorated to commemorate this event.

The façade of the building is usually covered with hundreds of red roses to commemorate the celebration of the patron saint of Catalonia.

Amatller House

The Amatller House is a very important building in Barcelona, which presents a modernist style designed by the Catalan architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch.

The design of Casa Amatller incorporates basic aspects of modernism, as well as Germanic and Neo-Gothic elements.

Today, the ground floor of the building is open to all visitors, hosting one of the best stained glass windows of the modernist era.

Palau de la Música Catalana (Catalan Music Palace)

The Palau de la Música Catalana (Catalan Music Palace)located in the Ribera district of Barcelona, is a concert hall that traditionally welcomes the best international artists.

The Palace of Catalan Music was designed by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montanerwho is one of the great representatives of Catalan modernism
